Running to Lose Weight?


Once you have lost weight, you will want to know what you should do when you do lose the weight. It is important to keep up your new and improved lifestyle. It doesn't have to be as intense or as much work, as you would do during your diet. But, you should be aiming to not put the weight back on.

There are several steps that you can take, to help you avoid putting the weight back on, once you have lost the weight. Start by choosing the right diet. The right diet consists of choosing the right foods. The right foods consist of you choosing to eat healthier foods while avoiding eating the unhealthier foods. This doesn't mean that you have to have to avoid unhealthy food completely.

You can choose to eat some treats once a week, or, twice a week. A treat could be something like a takeaway, or fried food, once or twice a week. Or, something like eating chocolates, crisps or sweets at odd times during the week.

Eating Healthy

An excellent way to do this is to make your treats a reward. A reward could be a curry takeaway, or, an eating out at a chain restaurant at the end of the week when you have successfully got through the week of eating healthy. This reward will encourage you to eat healthily throughout the week.

Throughout the week, try and eat healthy foods and snacks. You can have the odd snack treat, such as chocolates, crisps and sweets if you want to. Whereas, try and eat healthy snacks for meals. You can eat as much food as you want when you are eating healthy foods, this is because healthier foods generally are less full of fat and calories, which put on a lot of weight in you.

It's not necessarily the amount of food that you eat which is the problem when you put on weight, it is eating too much of the wrong foods, which are generally the problem. Therefore, if you want to lose weight effectively and quickly, then you shouldn't just cut down on the food that you eat, as that will not be effective. You should be cutting down on specific types of foods, mainly unhealthy foods.

Diet Plan

Therefore, once you have completed your diet and go back to eating the way that you normally ate. Your goal should be to eat more healthy types of foods, than unhealthy types of foods. That way, you will not put more weight back on.

Another way to stop yourself from putting more weight back on after you have dieted is to get fit. To get fit, you should take part in some form of exercise, at least once a week. Once a week try and do some form of exercise, like going for a walk, or a run, or even going to some form of exercise class.

When you are going to be active, then you will avoid putting weight back on. Being active through exercise stops you from putting on excessive weight. This is because you will be working off all those carbs and all that fat which enters your body through the foods that you eat.

Working off weight comes from being active. You should not just, therefore, take up some form of exercise during the week, you should also be changing your lifestyle. Changing your lifestyle comes down to what you do in your day-to-day life.

Day to day Activities

What you do in your day-to-day life, consists of how active you are. How active you involve things like how long you sit for. Do you sit and watch TV a lot? This can be a contributor to weight gain. If you do tend to sit about and watch a lot of TVs, then try and limit the amount of TV you watch each day.

Think about doing something else, where you can be more active. If you are more active, it leads to a healthier lifestyle. And a healthier lifestyle leads to you putting on and gaining less weight. Try and do something which is more active throughout the day such as gardening, that is a way to encourage more activity in your day-to-day life.

Changing small things like this, your everyday routine can help you not only to lose weight but also it helps to prevent you from adding on weight in the first place. This makes changing your daily routines from unhealthy routines, to healthy routines, so important - it can literally be the difference between gaining weight or losing weight. The choice is yours.

Another thing that you should take into consideration throughout the week, is how much you drink. With how much you drink, we are referring to alcohol, not your normal day-to-day soft drinking. This is so important to take into consideration because alcohol is another way that you can put on a lot of weight. In fact, it is a major contributor to weight gain.

What to drink

This is why it is so important to control how much you drink. That is if you don't want to put weight back on. You should try and drink alcoholic drinks which are low in calories, instead of alcoholic drinks which are rich in calories. There are many drinks which are low in calories, these mainly include spirits. So things such as gin and rum are low in calories.

Trying to change to drinks like this which are low in calories, will help you to avoid putting the weight back on. And the trick that you could try, if you want to avoid weight while drinking, is if you drink some water before you take a drink of alcohol. Not only will this help prevent you from putting on more weight, it will also help to prevent you from getting a hangover the following day.
